“Women have always shaped the soul of music, even when the industry refused to give them credit,” Batten continues. “This collective is a space where their voices aren’t just heard— they're protected, amplified, and honored.”
“We’re not building a brand,” says Batten. “ We’re building a space where music breathes again. Where it’s okay to be rough, raw, emotional, un filtered — and where nobody needs a million followers to be worth hearing.”
Whispering Hearts Collective was born from the belief that true art can't be bought, packaged, or stripped of its soul for someone else's profit. It stands as a refuge for creators who know that music can still heal, provoke, and unite us—without compromise.

Whispering Hearts Collective is a non-profit dedicated to reinvesting every bit of support and proceeds into direct artist funding and spaces for deep creative exploration — building a sustainable future for independent creators beyond the reach of industry control.

What
Whispering Hearts Collective is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting beginning and independent artists. We exist to bridge the gap between artists and the record label by offering resources, creative spaces, and opportunities that put the artist first.
Why
In a music industry dominated by profit, contracts, and gatekeeping, artists are too often silenced or forced to compromise. We believe art should be guided by heart, not industry — and that every artist, no matter their reach, should have the freedom, support, and space to create authentically.
How
We’re building this vision in phases:

Founders Bio
Mia Batten is a multi-faceted creative force, and grief worker based in Texas. By day, she serves families in the funeral profession—holding space, honoring stories, and walking alongside people in their most vulnerable moments. Through that work, Mia has witnessed the quiet power of presence and the deep need for spaces of healing through the art of storytelling.

For her, music is the bridge — between life and loss, sorrow and celebration, silence and expression. Whispering Hearts Collective was born from that truth: that art, like grief, needs room to breathe. Mia created this collective to offer artists the space, support, and freedom to create without compromise — where truth-telling is sacred, and community is everything.
